One breed laying flock???

I would like to start a laying flock with just one breed in it. I have narrowed it down to two breeds. Plymouth barred rock and rhode island reds. What breed would be best for a solid, dependable, consistent flock? Also, what are the advantages/disadvantages of both of these breeds?

I would go with the barred rocks.

In my personal experience the rirs are flighty and can be agressive. Barred rocks are more gentle and friendly.

Im not totally sure how they are when you compare egg production though....

The barred rocks. I love my rocks - friendly and full of personality.
