Hey folks,

I found one of my 3 month old pullets lethargic yesterday. No other symptoms. I put her in a nesting box to keep warm and she was dead this morning. I thought that a snake might have bitten her, but couldn't find any marks. Now another pullet is becoming lethargic. There are no other symptoms. NO bloody poop, no runny noses, no breathing difficulties, just lethargic.

I'm going to run out and get some worm medicine, but want to see if anyone can tell me something before I run to town. Thanks.

First off, treat for coccidiosis. That's a common cause. Now. Only one strain has bloody poop.
If that's not it, it could be a virus.
At 3 months old, they may have worms but not enough to cause those symptoms. Not old enough.

Seminolewind, I sure do appreciate your speedy reply! I have medication for that here so will treat them right away. I didn't know there was a strain that did not cause them to pass blood.

Thank you again so much!

Jeff
