Has anyone had chickens who have laid an eggs that is two-toned? How does that happen? I have attached a photo that shows the usual type egg(s) that I get and the 2-toned egg.

Thanks,
Robin

Thanks for the info NHMountainman. I read a couple articles and found them quite interesting, didn't show my 2 toned eggs but did explain a lot about other shell variances.
True too, in the big picture of things, I can't see why the varying type of shells would be considered a problem. In the last year I have noted a couple of the issues they mentioned. However with each of the variances I have never noticed a change the quality or taste of the egg and never considered them a problem. True too, for instance, a soft shelled egg was only laid once and the girls had just started laying. The egg's shell was soft yet still intact and my husband ate it and said it was fine.

Having chickens is so fun, interesting and you can't go wrong with the delicious eggs they lay.
