Amazing....I am surprised that any chick could be hatched from a store egg, having been refrigerated....The little fluffball is adorable, hope he continues to do well!!

WOAH! maybe I'll ask for a incubator for my birthday or christmas?! I did want a pig though...

I couldn't tell from the pics, but does he have down all the way down his legs and toes? Is the inside of his legs bare, or fuzzy? If he's Brahma, he'll only have feathers on the outside of the legs. Faverolles have that as well, and a break in the feathering between body and legs. It's been so long I forget for sure, but I think buff Brahma chicks show some black right away, so he may be Faverolle.

Oh, how many toes does he have? Is there a fifth toe on the back of the leg, above the usual fourth toe?

No fifth toe, and his pants stop at the knee. He doesn't show any black. He was born out of a brown egg. (yuk yuk yuk...could be anything! The hen could be any brown egg layer, and the daddy could be any kind of chicken....)

Ok, not Brahma or Faverolle, then. I thought that was unlikely. Orpington? He's the right color, they're good layers. Golden Comet? Or maybe one of the other buff colored sex-links/production layers of brown eggs.

Any more signs of impending hatch from the other eggs?

oh that is so amazing, i've just fixed my incubator so i am planing to buy some eggs next time i go to the shops.
were the eggs in the refrigerater?
which ones do you think would be better room temp or refrigerated?

Congratulations! I hope Peeps is doing well. I hatched one out from a refrigerated egg about a month ago, though it was from some local person who had sold them to eat and not from a grocery store. I have a very mixed-up (breed) cute chick with feathered legs, muffs, and barred feathers.
