i have 5 ex-battery hens, and i have had them for a while now and one of them started to grow back the feathers on her back and then all of the other hens started to peck her and peck the feathers out when she goes for food and then she just went in the coop and now rarely comes out and can not have much food because the other hens peck her. now she has no feathers on her back and was bleeding quite badly. her comb has fallen and has lost colour she hardly comes out the coop has little food but alot of water and has started having really runny yellow poo. she is still getting bullied alot.

what do i do?

please help?

Thank you

maybe you can separate her and let her get her strength back? Maybe reintroducing her would help her? there is also some blue stuff you can spray on the girls that helps with pecking. not sure what it's called, but i am sure someone knows.
good for you getting battery hens! love seeing the pictures when they are feathered out and happy!

I think they mean Bluekote, and it's not an "anti-pecking" solution, but it coats the wound or bare skin with blue, which other chickens aren't as inclined to peck at. I would also be worried that there may be something other wrong with that hen. Chickens can be brutal, and if they sense weakness or disease, they will do their best to make that chicken go away.

okay thank you
and i have had these 5 chickens for around 2 months and they have all been fine until a week ago when this one that i am talking about started being pecked at and before it was being pecked it was fine

Are they laying? Have you noticed whether this hen in particular is laying? It seems even more odd now that I know they haven't been doing it before. I hate to say it, but it really sounds like something might be wrong with her. Check her crop and abdomen for swelling.

well i get 2 to 3 eggs a day but i think the one that is being bullied is laying eggs where the shell is soft and not fully formed and hardly any yolk itself
