one of my poems. (i added another one, guys!)

Stormhorse23,
I like the poems you have shared, even if they are a little dark. Poems are emotional things, that's the way it is.
If people don't like them cause they are dark that is thier preference, but doesn't mean anything.
I started writing when I was fairly young as well.
I can relate to the darker themes you write.
I pretty much only write when I am troubled. The topics are usually about things I cannot sort out in my head, and do not wish to talk about at the time. Even still, these topics on my mind need sorting out. They need an escape. Writing gives that outlet.
Like you stated, when I try to write some thing nice, it seems forced and silly. Probably because it is not coming from trapped emotions needing an out, it is a topic that I am trying to force to paper.
Here one I wrote during, and one after a divorce when I was still having trouble dealing with my ex.
Things are better now, but were horrible at the time.

Dreams
Images of horror in my minds eye
Pictures of fighting , you and I
Nightmares of us, they dost me wake
Scenes of us ,our twisted fate
These are things that fill my night
I cannot remove them from my sight
My visions once filled with thought
Of joy no man could have bought
These now replaced, by your desire
With visions of our love consumed in fire
Its for me these images to shake
To leave behind, become my wake
Someday these thoughts will pass me bye
But for now they wake me, in my minds eye

Forewarning
Her words are like bile
Spewing from within
A soul that is dark
Black as sin
A minion from below
To my life has come
As if the tempter himself
Chose me as the one
A mortal in leisure
Caught up in a nap
Ripe for his succubus
To come and entrap
Now the days I endure
Due to this slumber
Seem to come and go
With out end, with out number
So beware in youth
Stay forever awake
Or as is for me
Could be your fate
