One of my three chickens is a rooster. What now?

I I bought three “hens” 8 weeks ago. Turns out one is a rooster. I have found a place for him to go. What do I do next? As far as keeping the other two happy... do I need to add 2 more hens. Is it normal to request 8 week old hens? Has anyone been through this? Is it okay to have just two adult hens... any and all help is much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I think 2 will be fine, but why say no to more chickens? I have to make up stories to convince hubby to let me get more. You've got a REAL chicken math problem.

Your pullets will be just fine. Some people like to keep more than two in case something happens to one of them, but that's a personal choice.

I disagree. Three or more is a flock. They won’t be as happy.

Two can be fine. If you want more, ideally I'd get more birds of the same age for the safest integration.
