Snoopy is starting to eat which is good as it makes giving him his meds easier. Still looks really bad.

When I was in high school, I had a Boxer who got bit on the tongue. I was going out to check on the chickens, opened the barn door, and there was the copperhead posed to strike right at my feet. Bo-Bo (the Boxer) saw him, lunged, killed the snake, but was bitten on the tongue. I load him up in my car and rushed him to the vet, who was able to prescribe antibiotics and pain meds. I took him home that afternoon, but I had to hand feed him canned dog food for about 3 days. His tongue was blue for a while, but he didn't loose any tissue. He lived to a ripe old age. I have a blue heeler that was bitten by a copperhead at age 10 weeks. He screamed, went to the vet, but was just fine in a few days.

aww...poor Snoop!

One of my parents' greys got bit on twice by a copperhead. He was swollen and sore for a few days, but he was ok after that.
