Well, I didn't like what I had in charm squares, so I ordered fabric. It's from a new collection by Moda. Blue Bonnet Patch. I got a layer cake to cut up for the 9 patches, a large print for the outer border, a small print in yellow for inner border and small print in blue for the backing.

They ship super fast, so I should have it by Tues or Wed.

Those are super cheerful in reds, yellows and blues, Terrie. I loved the charm packs you sent me back when my house fire happened or was it when I broke my ankle? Gosh, my memory is going! I never buy them for myself, just cut all my fabrics, except for an occasional short cut or fat quarter.

I need two more rows on this quilt, then will decide about further borders, etc.

I'm done for the day, tried to get the last two blocks done, but my steam ran out. Had to drive to deliver some hatching eggs to a previous customer and after that, I didn't get much more done. My back is cranking up like someone is winding a big spring too tight in it so off to watch some mindless TV with hubby in a few minutes. This is where I am now, blocks just sitting there, not sewn together. And I'll have my Thousands of Bolts order soon, too, probably Wed.

These fabrics are coming tomorrow, with a couple of exceptions I can't find pictures of now. Maybe I got the only piece left on those and they removed them, unlike what Joann does. Joann says now that I have to keep checking for those quilt backs I ordered to be back in stock and then, be sure there are a good number, then reorder. It's on me, not them, now to get those sent to me. Grrr.

I ordered 2 yards of this first one and am choosing some fabrics off that to coordinate. You can tell which ones they are, of course. Soon, until something I make sells, I'll have to go on a fabric diet.

The 15 blocks are done and it's a long quilt in length compared to the width. Without any borders, it will be 54x90. Any ideas what you'd do with this? I have almost none of the fabrics left now. I've spent too much on fabric with nothing coming in to give me $$ to buy more after this latest order gets here or I'd think about adding a row on the side to widen it some and just putting the stars in random areas, not like it is now, exactly.

i made a couple odd size quilts. I put one in each of our vehicles for pretty and for emergencies in case we got stuck in a snow drift for days.

I just use old comforters and crocheted lapghans for that. But, we haven't had many snow days anyway. I may put this together, border it and it could be used as a twin or daybed quilt, I guess.

Does it need be that long? I would take long away and add to a side. Even though you would be makin half a star block i think it would work.

Or only add border with what leftovers you have on one side and make it a design element of bein off center. Maybe six patches? Or nine? Whatever size would work better for your scrap sizes.
