The swirls are not at all consistent.

Nor would they be, in nature, if they were moving, each would be different/individual.

You're too sweet, thank you. I agree, I am my worst critic, that's for sure. I guess I should compare what I can do now to what I started out doing when I first began to learn free motion. I'm very grateful for the teachers on YouTube who give their time and put out so much content and for the supportive friends on BYC!

I'm really not, it's my honest opinion - it's that "irregularity" that makes handmade. If you want perfectly regular, you can get it from a factory in China. Yuck. Give me individuality every time.
(mind you, I know those perfectionistic tendencies, I'm the one who gave my quilt away, remember )

I remember! You know, I've had those quilts from China on a couple of occasions and often look at them in Walmart. They're definitely not perfect. The fabric, batting and stitching is substandard. The stitches sometimes look like a semi-blind 5 year old did them if they say "hand quilted" and if machine quilted, they are still shoddy workmanship. But, of course, we live in a throwaway world, don't we? Well, individual, I am guilty of, that's for sure! At least with machine quilting. I recall years ago my friend, who made brooms in KY, would take my small quilted pieces to sell with his brooms and some woman argued with him that they were machine quilted. I didn't even have a machine then.

Hey, how are you? I had to see a closer picture of the dog in your avatar. My older son has two, one being a white German Shepherd, but I see yours is maybe a wolfhound? What's his/her name?

I am hoping ya'll can give me your opinions on these 2 machines. My current machine is very limited in the quilting department. It will work for piecing but likely not for quilting. There is no option for dropping the dogs.

I have the confidence quilter. It is a nice overall machine. I have quilted king quilts on it... BUT.... i do easy peasy quilting on it. I think that is just my quirk though... i despise actual quiltin on my machine. So take that bit with a grain of salt. The throat space is very crammed full on a king but it will go throughh with some fiddlin. I have had mine for seven years i think and aside from reg maintainance it has been a good lil machine for me.

I am GREAT! Poseidon “Si” IS a wolfhound. . He is six now and love love love him to pieces! For my dogs from now on it will def be a muppet. They fit me and my energy levels perfect and being my service animal his size is such a huge help to me. .

oh, I love the name Poseidon! Here is my son's girl, Sophie. He adopted her to be a pal to his 1/2 Husky 1/2 Shepherd dog, Ghost. She has issues, is very timid, hates her hindquarters messed with at the vet (probably artificially inseminated at some point), but isn't she pretty?

Find more stash/scraps that mostly matches and make some borders.
