Ongoing Quilt Projects, Continued from the "No Appreciation...." Thread

I didn't have enough gray or even dark enough in what I did have for the border so I got some black that reads sort of lighter because of its print for the border. I'll do a red binding. May have to buy that. The red I have is probably not enough to make binding and it needs to be very close to the red squares, not a maroonish-red.
Here is the border on and a mock-up of what the red binding will look like.

Oh my goodness! I received a wonderful surprise package today! Some super nice person sent me a big box chock full of gorgeous, quality cotton fabrics and even a few spools of high quality threads to use with them.

You know who you are, fess up so I can be 100% sure and thank the right person! No note was inside the box, only a return address in FL without a name. The creative juices will be flowing like a waterfall with all this bounty! Thank you so, so much! I am so blessed to know so many kind people in my life. There are three, count 'em, THREE Morning Serenade panels with beautiful roosters on them, my weakness, as you all know.

Thank You!!!

What a wonderful surprise for a very deserving lady!

It is truly wonderful and generous beyond words, but I'm not sure I'm all that deserving. I don't feel worthy of all the generosity that has flowed my way over the years, especially from the lovely people on BYC who have come to be so special to me. But, the fabrics are gorgeous! So many of my favorite manufacturers are in here, such stunning pieces, some as large as 3 yards! The challenge is figuring out the best way to arrange these into blocks that show them off.

I figured it out after a little bit. The return address sounded so familiar to me. It was a hatching egg customer from years and years ago, a wonderful BYC friend, seminolewind (Karen)! She said she had not quilted in a long time and thought about me. What a wonderful, out-of-left-field surprise! So many gorgeous fabrics from RJR, AE Nathan, Marcus Brothers, etc, etc. Several three yard lengths, even, some obviously already pre-washed it seems. A rooster quilt is in my future for sure!

Such a great gift in all those fabrics. :love

Yes you definitely have to make a rooster quilt.

I gave up for now on the singer tension issue. I am sending the big quilt out for quilting on a longarm. Our local shops want nearly 300 to do it. It's headed to Missouri Star and just 135 dollars to do it.

I am making flowers for the grandmothers flower garden quilt but not going traditional with it. I plan to sew them to a long strip and add vines and butterflies.

This next one is coming along. I think I have about 50 blocks made.

I am trying to do skill building projects. This one has secondary patterns in how the white meets in the corners.

Missouri Star is so reasonable in their quilting prices. I might send the king size sampler I finished recently to them. Your flowers looks great and I love the 4 patch on point. Great job!!
