When we lived in Florida we had a friend that had been visiting and was walking out the door and a tree frog jumped and landed right on her face. She screamed and was batting at it to get it off, meanwhile I thought I would die from lack of air from laughing so hard. It was hilarious. One night I thought I had seen a lizard in my bedroom. So here I go searching everywhere because I just knew I would get wakened up with it on my face. Well, I didn't find it so I figured I was seeing things........Well........I wasn't seeing things and sure enough I feel smething on my face and open my eyes and there it is looking back at me.

Another thing about Florida. My friend had a lot of cats. (too many actually) Anyway, she always fed then outside and the food pan just so happened to be by a water drain that wason the ground and it ran to the river a block away. The biggest frogs i've ever seen would come out of that drain at night and eat the cat food. The cats would just be eating right along with them. I'm sure I still have that picture somewhere. These frogs where nearly as big as the cats. Probably weighed as much anyway.

There are some weird things in Florida. I hear the everglades have pythons now because people get sick of them and turn them loose.
Was just outside pulling weeds near the mailbox, got chewed by ants.:p Man, I am so SICK of bugs. Oh, and, on a happy note, three more quail hatched so the first one now has company! I opened the incubator, and there they were, sitting in the egg carton just as cute as could be!

Spray Lysol on those ants. I discovered it one day when my grandsons had spilled something on the bathroom floor and the ants found it before I did. I sprayd the nearest thing at them and they died in their racks. And I disenfected the floor at the same time.

Well I just got a surprise.

Background info...

I have a project I am working on. I have been setting eggs since march from 2 hens. There has been major fetility issues. 10% were hatching the rest were clears. The roo died of heat stroke. So I collect for about a weeek after his death and put the remaining 8 eggs in the bator. 1 was fertile of the project eggs. Then I put eggs under a broody to finish for the last couple of days and raise. The others were from a swap with Elieugene6 and 1 project egg. I go out there this morning and the project egg has hatched but all I see are blue and black chicks, the chick I am looking for is patterned. I count unhatched eggs, and count chicks. Ummmmm ooooookkkkkkk. What!!??

Then I remember about the same time as collecting the last eggs, I had let my black bantam Orpington roo out with all the girls to freerange.

In other news the chicks are adorable! I am very happy with Jennifer's eggs/chicks. In fact I have more from her coming soon!

I just have to show off my recent hatch. All but 1 hatched and 1 died after it hatched but the rest are doing great.

Silkies - blue, black, lav splash, white and red partridge. I have no idea which those are but I know 4 hatched.

Sizzles - They came from a black hen, 2 blue hens with a calico silkie roo. All 4 are different but the blue one and black one are a dead give away who their mothers are.
