Sometimes, ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Dont let it get to you.

Good for you. I have been a vet tech for the past 18 years. I love dogs. I make my living helping them. BUT, I will not hesitate to kill one that is after my birds. Hopefully the lady will learn her lesson. After all, it is HER fault. Not the dog's, and certainly not yours.

I am going to try and control my self with hatching eggs in the coming up year. I ended up with many rare breeds where I just got one chick and I knew I could never find a mate for it and I ended up selling so this year I plan on stricking to the following.

New Breeds.

Columbian Cochins
Call Ducks(Different colors than the whites I have)
Maybe Lavender Ameracanas from LittleAmeracanamom
Gambel Quail

Build up my current breeds.

Seramas
SQ Silkies
SQ WC black polish bantams
Mille Fleur Cochins
Show Girls (probably be my main focus)

As for live birds I am getting Mottled Houdan Bantams from Boggy Bottom in the Spring. I am ordering Splash silkie chicks and not telling what else with chicks. I am just going to try to watch the eggs. I say that now, but the question will be if I can stick to my guns.

I am expanding a bit.. well let me clarify.. some of my chickens from the mixed breed main flock will find themselves segregated for good..

Silver laced Wyndotte - currently looking for hatching eggs or prefferably a teenage roo to be matched with my four girls

BLRW - I have three roosters and 4 hens.. hoping to hatch a few more eggs in a couple of weeks.. decide on the flock rooster (they were all hatched out by me so will live here forever- just some in the mixed flock and one in the breeder pen)

Buff Brahmas (LF) I currently have ZERO.. but hope to recify that soon

Columbian Wyndotte (are you seeing a theme)... I have four beautiful hens and just need to find a nice rooster for them-- finding roosters are harder than I thought!

and Silkies.. I currently have two grown.. three mid-size and two or three chicks that are two weeks old.. for someone that wasn't going to have "fluffy chickens".. I have a bunch..lol.. lets not mention those eggs in the bator.

My other interest is quail -

Expanding my Bobwhite group

Starting a Cornix (spelled wrong I know) group

This is it for right now.. of course I reserve the right to change my mind ..often..
