It must be wall to wall coops and pens at hot's place. I had peacocks for years and yes they can fly like crazy. Mine mostly liked to stand at the back door and pick at it and poop on the deck. Pooping on the new front porch was their down fall. I miss them sometimes but not much.

I went to see the cardiologist. For my follow up visit. I must have waited 1.5 hours and then saw some other doctor. I wanted to know why a heart rate of 42 wasn't considered serious. She shows me a spot where she says, look, here it shows that your heart stopped, now we know that didn't happen. It's just an average.

Whatever. Then I waited to talk to the person who does coding to try and get them to use a v code. That's a preventive medicine code, so it might be covered. No, they are not going to do that because I had symptoms:rolleyes: argh, it drives me nuts
So I was in Jackson anyway , stopped in at Lowe's for some free skids and got about 2/3 sheet of plywood for only $1! After I finally made it home, I worked on the quail pen again. Got the roof on, the nest box on, the second door on! Just need to put wire and plywood on the door. I am considering putting plywood around the legs so it stays warmer for them this winter. They are a month old now, two more weeks to pol.
Next I need to subdivide the light sussex/cochin coop, and build another run. Then I need another silkie pen in the barn, but those are a quick build.

The quail pen is nearing completion! I need to put wire inside the door on one side, but it is pretty much done . I am thinking about building some bigger feeders to access from the outside.
DH cut down three trees today! Then he cut them up and split them. I picked up the wood , put it in the back of the mule, took it to the back of the house and stacked it. We got about 1.5 cords of wood. So a very good start on keeping us warm this winter. Of course , both of us have bad discs in our backs, so we will be hobbling around tomorrow .
i sold 38 chicks today, could have sold more if i had the RIR the guy wanted. Then i turned around and put 36 more eggs in the bator:-D
I started the conversion on the 4x8 coop, to split it in two compartments . Got the divider in, moved the perches, and put a door in the hole i cut on the side. I let the chickens out while i was working on it. The hens were annoyed, i moved their nest box. It is just one that sits on the floor with two compartments, and i needed it out of the way while i worked. I am sure they were swearing in chicken language, it was too funny.
Hope i can move tomorrow , i am going to take a muscle relaxer before bedtime.:p

Yes, but unlike some folks, missed out on swapping:-D I just candled all the eggs in the little Bator, tossed out 4. The shipped ones from Louisiana don't look good, but I left them in just in case. Dominiques. And I put four from Shelly in the Hatcher. One was too dark a shell to candle. It will probably hatch and be a rooster, that's usually what happens when I hatch one of something.

You go girl! Jim had a very good hatch from the last batch he got from me. So glad, now he needs to build more coops too:-D

Today DH helped me, and we got the frame together for the run! I am so glad this coop will be split up and the cochins can have their own place! I got two layers of wire on one side, another side adjoins the existing run, and one layer of wire on another side. The final side needs a door and I need to put wire over top. Oh yes, and I built the nest box and he installed it on the side of the coop! I just love progress! I am probably going to need more wire AGAIN !:p
I have so much stuff to ship tomorrow it will probably take all morning to finish packing it:-D
