only ducks disappearing.

Lol i grew up next to an asian family their daughter was my best friend and her mom could cook this bbq duck that i still crave lol.
lol if it was BBQ I might like it. The only kind I have ever had was roasted or baked.
My chickens don't even think about flying anywhere except up to the nest or roost.

we are in middle Tennessee. Seen bobcats about 25 years ago on the property but none since.pretty much every critter you mentioned has been seen here at one time or another. We have had problems with raccoons and opossums but they always left evidence that something had been here.

I have not seen any overt bobcat signs here either in longer than 25 years but I have trapped two of the little darlings and relocated both of them to the taxidermist in less than one year. Oh yes both of these bad boys were male so that shows that both of these bobcats were in their home range. The first one only had one eye and his head and face was scared up badly, evidently from fighting with other hopeful bobcat fathers.

PS: I am about 20 miles South of the Tennessee state line so we likely share chicken predators.

In the last few weeks we have had at least 11 ducks come up missing without a trace. The chickens have not been touched. The ducks include 1 peking, 1 mallard, 3 Indian runner and the rest were mixes between mallards/runners/east indies. They are fenced in on 1/3 Acre. No holes under fence. No extra feathers anywhere. Usually when we have problems there are feathers everywhere, dead bodies and usually chickens. There are also 2 goats in with them. And a goose. I don't know what time of day they come up missing.I know there are red tail hawks here, the neighbor lost his chickens to foxes. I do live in the country.
I was just wondering if anyone had any pointers on how to keep birds of prey away if that is what it is. It is just weird that it takes ducks only. The chickens are so much easier to catch!

I had one of my ducks come up missing yesterday. I have over 8 acres in southern Arizona. We fenced it off last year and have been letting the ducks and chickens free range. They pretty much stay around the chicken coop and house which had a area of grass. We have 3 dogs ( one is what the sheep herder in the area uses to watch over his sheep) he likes to stay outside and 2 cats that pretty much ignore the chickens and ducks. The one that came up missing was a 2 year old black crested cayuga drake. There were no feathers, blood or signs of a strugglE. The fense isn't a brick wall it's basically just a wire fence. No signs of digging under the fence so I'm just not sure what predator I am dealing with. So I'm thinking it's a predator bird just don't know what kind that would be able to carry off this size of duck. Does anyone have any ideas?

Any update?
the neighbor across the field says usually every day around 4pm that there are two chicken hawks that circle our properties and a neighboring property. He has a small pen so he covered his with a mesh and the Hawks still fly into it. Other than that, no other leads. Whatever it is goes over the fence, as there are no holes under the fence or in it.
