Hello, I had a perfect little flock and my friends dog got out. They were sleeping and the dog got into the coop…only one survived but she has a broken wing. Do I put her out of her misery of loosing everyone she knows or do I try to get her better…

Update: she is doing better, I have wrapped her wing with slight modifications to all the amazing advice and tutorials sent my way. She seems in better spirits a little. She is drinking water with electrolytes and some baby aspirin crushed and diluted. She’s moving in a small two step semi circle but still hasn’t eaten. The baby chicks have said their hello and she eyed them but made tiny cluck noises like a small guck guck( sing it ha). Trying to get her to eat. She’s looking at it and pecks once but decided it’s a no. I really want to thank you all so much for your support and help. I’m new to this and to have this community has stopped me from crying most of the day away. Y’all are saints. Thank you again to everyone ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Try to help her along with that broken wing. She will be just fine when it heals.
Make sure the dog does not get access to your future flock of chickens.
Sorry to hear of your loss.
Ask anything you are not sure of. There is a whole community here to help with answers, and suggestions.

WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and :welcome

I would try to help her. While her wing is healing I'd predator proof the coop and run then get some started pullets or at least a retired layer and start her on quarantine so that by the time that's over your lone girl will be healed enough for integration with her new friend(s) in a secure home. Good luck with everything.

She should be kept in a warm place inside if you can since the stress of an attack can cause them to go into shock. Her injury doesn't sound too serious but you should inspect her close for other injuries. As long as she's eating and drinking she should make a quick recovery.

I hope your chicken recovers soon!
