Only you guys will understand

It's true. Money is what is on most people's minds nowadays. And the people who dont worry about it spend anywhere from 3.99 to 6.00 on store "farm fresh" (still probably 30 days old by the time they pick them up), vegetarian, cage free... the different labels on eggs blow my mind. I have decided we need more farmers markets around. Too bad we cant replace grocery stores with those. Or too bad more people wont raise their own food sources.

People don't want to raise their own food because it takes time and costs more money than buying it at the store.

Yes it does. My boyfriend has had the debate with me when it comes to me wanting to raise my own food. Asking me if it was cost efficient. I always come back with the response of it may cost a bit more but at least I know what my food has eaten.

Oh well. I guess there probably isnt much use in trying to change peoples way of thinking. I know where my mom works she actively sells my eggs for me. I just sold 3 dozen this past weekend. One person was actually surprised that they dont have to be put right into the fridge if they havent been washed.

I never try to change their minds. I know the quality of my chicken and eggs are far better than the supermarket. They taste better, have a different consistancy and I feel so much better feeding my family "the good stuff:D". It is a shame that they will eat at fancy resturants and pay thru the nose to eat a small handful of "fresh, quality, organic food." I charge $4 for an 18 pack or $3 per dozen. I don't lower my price and I don't appologize for the price, or when I run out. I'm not a grocery store and the quality customers I have, appreciate the labors of love I go thru daily.

My bro doesn't eat eggs at all now bc of our chickens, he is such a germophobe and I keep my chickens very clean, he is just weird

And he's not weird. Everyone should be subconscious about whether they are eating sanitary food, washing hands, and generally being cautious of other disease-causing organisms. This would prevent E.coli infections, salmonella, and even the cold or flu viruses.

I'm a germaphobe and I eat eggs. As long as the egg is cleaned and cooked well, they are perfectly sanitary.

Sorry I didn't mean it like that, I'm very clean and do what all you said, but he is weird you don't understand him. He use to eat those old store bought eggs but refused to eat our eggs bc he thinks our chickens are disgusting and I have nothing against that except our chickens are not disgusting. Those chicken Jamestown the street are. They have millions of chickens crammed together in tiny cages, etc. But Now he refuses to eat all eggs bc of different things he probably doesn't want me telling people. Again I'm sorry I didn't mean for that to sound rude and mean it's just he is you no.... Idk. I get that everyone can be a germophobe, I can be when it comes to things and I have nothing wrong with that so please don't take that as offensive.

Oh, it wasn't rude.

Some people are just afraid that home-grown eggs are unhealthy because they aren't inspected.
