In my opinion the first one looks like Kramer off Seinfield, the middle one is a pullet or hen and does not have the huge comb, the last one is a roo and you only NEED one of him and you don't have to look at him!

Silkies are good layers too, ours have been laying all winter long off and on and starting about 5 days ago I have been getting 4 eggs a day from 4 hens! WOOT!

They are evil because,(first of all) they have already taken over your mind or you would not be posting here. They have completed step 1. Secondly, they are just so dern fluffy and cute. Kids love them and they are pretty animated! Thirdly they are different and a good conversation piece. fourthly, you know you really want one! I see it!

i know thats whats freaking me out...but seriously the only reason i want them is cuz theyre cheaper than more incubators and now that its warming up it will be good for the chicks to get raised by an actual hen rather than me....or i could get some day olds and throw them under her and not have to deal with them myself.....it would be strictly a WORKING hen lol

Im a non Silkie lover from way back. Never did like them. Today I have blacks, cucko and blue cuckoo and I think they are my very favorite. If you can get past the looks you will love thier sweet disposition and thir broodyness. They are awesome.. you just have to get past the way they look.

ill try lol....im trying to find some now....but now i finally want them i cant find them when before i wanted nothing to do with them and it seemed like they were EVERYWHERE! lol

I have non-bearded whites, and the non-beardeds are the ones that have a face. They are the funniest little birds, especially if their head fluff obstructs their view at all! I have one girl that will practically run into me when I'm walking, and stop at the last minute.

Mine are about 8 months old. Two of the girls have been laying off and on for maybe a month. Tonight, one of them has decided she is done wasting time, and is setting on her one little egg that we didn't swipe yet. So tomorrow, she will be getting the other 4 or 5 that we did swipe! Might as well let her incubate them, and keep the bator for other eggs! At the rate my birds are going, I might be able to turn my bators off!!
