Oops: Thread for sharing stupid things you did

I stood on a chair to drive a screw into a post. You know, one of those old '50's kitchen chairs, tubular metal with the ugly green vinyl pad seat and back? And it was in the back yard ready to be thrown out so it's not like I didn't know it was a piece of junk. But I was affixing an old metal bell to the porch railing and, well, I'm short. So I looked around and there was this chair. It was just the right height and ya know, I only needed it for a few seconds ..... yeah, a few seconds too many. And that's why I needed surgery on my right shoulder to repair a torn rotator cuff. Home Depot has some very nice step ladders, by the way! ☺

Recently like within the last year I decided to start baking. I barely learned to cook 2-3 years ago so baking was new to me.

Recipe said hand mix the batter.

I thought it said “mix by hand”

My husband walked in and asked what are you doing?

Then proceeded to tell me it meant to mix with a spatula.

Every time I see hand mix in a recipe I remind myself, with a spatula 🤣

🤣 A wooden spoon often works, too. Just not an electric mixer.

When i was about 32 i was at a friend's house. They had a homemade skating ramp, anndi cant skateboard! So anyways, i go down this ramp, fine, twice, perfect, 3 times, even better! 4th time however, i managed to run over my finger and break it. Not very funny but worth telling🤣
Ow! 😱

I have a million stories of stupid things I have done, (It's a wonder, I am still alive)
Well, i say, please tell!! Looking back at yours, and all the others, i marvel that i actually haven't made as many stupid mistakes as one would think, it was mostly my brothers who made them (i have 5)...i am still pretty young though...
I do remember though when i was younger, one of my brothers insisted on having more cinnamon on his applesauce :)confused:), we told him no, it would taste disgusting. Fast forward a little bit and i was upstairs reading, my mom was playing the piano, and who knows what the others were doing, i than heard him crying, my first thought was; oh what has (brothers name) done!! I decided my mom would take care of it, and left alone, she apparently thought the same thing, so eventually i ended up going downstairs only to see that my brother had dumped the whole bottle of cinnamon (it was a big bottle!!) in his mouth :thAt the moment i thought it was actually pretty funny . We still talk about that sometimes...
