Opal/Owen's Buddies, what are we??? (picture heavy!)

Just got off the phone with both. Guy was super rude and wouldn't exchange. I might become one of those evil Craigslist flaggers on him... Red and Hinky are off to freezer camp as soon as they start a crowin' , sorry kids.

Lady with Marans super nice and no prob with refund, etc and would have happily exchanged but was all out of hens or pullets, as someone came and took all the rest last night! ARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGG!!!!!! No olive eggers next year for me now unless I get lucky..... BOO. Yay for understanding seller though.

Hear me now: I will never, ever go get pullets again without being armed with photos of what one or the other should look like. D'oh!

as chicks if they are under 6 weeks pics wont help lol unless the cockerels develop faster than the pullets which does happen with comb and wattles but 6 weeks is the min age to tell sex with 8+ weeks being better

with the guy it depends on what his ad says if it says he will refund/exchange and he doesnt then you can flag him for miss-advertising

Honestly doesn'y much but misspelled breeds and a phone number. I don't think he'll post again since he said he had nothing to exchange. He argued that Aslin-Fitch wouldn't give him a refund and I countered with if he bought chicks from a feed store he should know not to sell as pullets even if he bought at such, there's only a 90% correct rate for most of the hatcheries. I should have had a clue from the ad's lack of info.

i dont leave out any info and if i do and am asked about it i answer the question and add the info...i can tell you i will never sell sexed chicks under 10 weeks of age as i have had several chicks change sex on me so by the time they were 10 weeks old i had more cockerels than pullets and i have some in the brooder now and i have eggs due to hatch on or around the 1st

My production reds, like red and topaz, all have huge combs and got them by they time they were 14 weeks old but they are all most definitely pullets and great layers. We thought they were males at first too because of their comb development early on.

Uh, shouldn't those "Marans" have white legs? I'm not sure they're even pure.
really depends on the color verity
