Opa's place -Where an old rooster visits with friends

As it happens I do have a distinctive voice, a little deeper than most. Years ago when I was a rookie on the fire department, we would be assigned rotating duties. One of those was dispatcher. When a call would come in the assigned dispatcher would answer the call, assess the situation, and then dispatch the necessary equipment and manpower to the emergency. Since we worked a 24 hour shift we would sleep at the station. A telephone was right next to the dispatcher's bunk. When a call came in it also on a loudspeaker so that everyone could hear the call. One night when I answered the phone, the woman caller responded with "darn you sound awesome". Of course all on duty heard that, so for the next twenty something years my nickname was "Awesome".

Sprite, one of the first places I ever travelled to without my parents was San Francisco. I throughly enjoyed it and I'm sure you will as well. I bet a lot of things have changed since I was there 50 years ago.

Really, Opa? Cool, that's the same as me!!

I know I've been talking a lot about it, sorry... Oh! I'll post pictures of my aunt and I at WonderCon tomorrow!
