Sun bathing yesterday.

The flock is so calm now without all the extra boys.

I wouldn't call your coop basic. I think you did a good job of addressing the climate challenges of your location. DL's build was totally different because she worked with what was available to her and in the region she lives in. Don't sell yourself short!
