open mouth gasping / trying to swallow???

hi, he’s about 12 weeks old and the last few minutes he began to do this (in the video) about once or twice a minute he’s opening his mouth and extending his neck like this
he’s preening himself just fine now but his crop doesn’t feel full so i’m not sure if he’s eaten today or if something is stuck maybe.
please let me know what this might be and if it’s bad how i can help?!
also he just pooped so i’m sure he’s eaten at some point today but i know he’s had plenty of water i saw him drinking 10 mins before this
sorry i’m not sure what info y’all need about this !
it seems to have stopped but i’m still curious what it was and why?

more background info:
there were birds outside the coop and he was maybe scared and had his mouth hanging open when he heard them chirping and was looking for them? also he will sometimes pant when he’s been laying down on my lap for too long i think it’s overheating bc i took him to the vet when he was a few weeks old and first did it and she said his lungs and everything were fine except when she like stressed him physically he would do the open mouth breathing again sorry this is a lot of info.

edit: he is now eating scratch like there’s no tomorrow so all seems normal again. still curious about it though. thanks!

It sounds like he’s adjusting his crop or yawning. They do this normally, but if it’s a consistent thing happening, he could have sour or an impaction of his crop.

I had some chicks do this before passing away and now I freak out when I see any of my chickens do it, even though they’re just yawning/adjusting their crops.
