This chick is 5 weeks old. She was ordered as a light Brahma pullet. She is much darker than other LB that I have seen and was darker as a chick. Ordered from my pet chicken (likely came from Meyer?) I like her and will love her as the pet bird I ordered, but just curious if this is really a Brahma? I know hatchery quality can vary. If not a Brahma? What could she be? And is she a she?

Looked like my light brahma from McMurray. Mine is supposed to be a pullet, but having doubts at the moment. She (or he) was always very dark. At about 2 months old she has gotten a lot more white in her feathers, but I doubt she will ever get the proper columbian markings. I figure “hatchery quality”. Looks more like messy lacing than columbian. I’m okay with that personally, just really really hope she’s a pullet ... 🤞

This is the same color as my light brahmas. These hatchery birds are darker and more mottled than the standard. But still beautiful!
