Oregon Fall Chicken Swap!! SATURDAY, OCTOBER 10!!

I'm just a few miles form Timber Linn Park. There are only a couple of benches by the memorial. Pretty sparse and very marshy still. But quarter mile down from that at the other Timber parking lot(off the same road, you can actually see the one from the other) is a huge covered picnic area by a playground. Between the two are softball fields and frisbee golf. Very easy to find and get to. Right off I-5.

Wow..

sounds like one heck of a chicken party. I wish you guys where not so far away. Will anybody have Delaware ? . I am looking for a few more girls.

Anyone here interested in an Americauna Silver Roo? We ended up w/ two and it's becoming a bit noisy at 4:00A....

Would love to trade him for an Americauna Hen or Maran Hen...

Won't bring him unless someone wants him, but I've got too many roos (surprise, surprise) but I have a VERY handsome Barred Plymouth Rock, ("Duke") that is about 6 months old, and knows his job, wink, wink...willing to let him go if someone really wants him, but not crucial, so he's not for eating...

Can you send me a picture? I'd trade you a maran pullet - I don't know how dark of an egg you'll get but I have one that's really sweet with your name on it

Only...I'm not going, wanna meet somewhere between Milwaukie and Forest Grove???

I may not actually make it this time - kinda depends on the weather, if it is nice I really should do Saturday Market since I need the $$$ - I did get 7 new Ameracunas from a guy I found here - he buys a lot of chicks from a hatchery every year (not all at once - in batches) about 2500 a year and raises them to 3-1/2 to 4 months then sells them for about $10 each, so not show stock, but for layers...they seem to be pretty healthy and he has a nice big area for them to run around in and lets them free-range in the daytime I still have them seperated from the rest for a while for bio security and since they are a bit smaller, but don't anticipate any issues. Right now he has red (golden?) comets, barred rocks and the ameracunas, (if you buy 5-6 or so he will take a bit less per bird) they haven't been handled a lot, but mine are already getting more tame as I handle them, and it seems like a pretty good deal when I think of the amount of feed etc it took for me to get mine from day olds to 4 months... allthough there is the fun of raising babies - but I really like the ameracunas (EE's really since they are from a hatchery) and wanted a few more now rather than later. anyhow if is rainy I may still show up. Will update you as it gets closer. Leslie

My Little Sister's Farm :

I'm so upset I can't go!!! I have to go to a wedding. I really want some dark, dark maran eggs and quail too.

Anyone from the Forest Grove area going?

I am coming from Newberg. Is that close by enough for you?

Since I've had no requests for birds I'll be staying home working on breeding pens. Feel free to inquire about my birds in the future. I also coordinate hatchery orders for locals year round so I could have just about anything in the brooders.
