Oregon Fall Poultry Swap! 9/25/10 11am **all details on first post!*

I'm with you! I love the fairgrounds and think it is definitely worth looking into. They host a lot of swap meets and garage sales there for many different organizations and neighborhoods. Plus I know they are trying to draw people back to the fairgrounds after some bad PR the last few years with the fair so it might be the right time. I'm definitely looking into it.

That would be really great! I'd appreciate that. It would be the same as going south to Cottage Grove. There is a place there Oregonjen and I talked about at her swap a couple weeks ago. I think any place in Oregon is pretty much up for discussion. After the last swap there were a lot of comments in private messages to me and on the thread about having it somewhere else. Maybe we move it around to two different places each year to make sure everyone is fairly treated in the distances? I am open to all ideas and places. I think if people want to go to the swap, they will drive.

Agreed. I'll let you know what I find out.

It's on my calendar!

Looking forward to it!

Now the Cottage Grove site is my favorite option!!

Count me in to help however I can. We could look at a South Valley one in the Fall an a North Valley one in the Spring (or other way). That way everybody drives about the same throughout the year.

Thanks Bil! I think that is a great idea of splitting it up between the north and south. It seems like a very fair thing for everyone.

Tina, the date is Saturday, September 25th. We are still working on locations. I have had a few PMs from people who are helping me secure a safe and legal spot (or spots) that will work for everyone.

I'll have to keep track of this thread! I'm hoping to at least have a coop by my birthday (I turn 21 next week), so if everything goes according to plan, I'll have something to bring to the swap meet! Thanks for posting about it~

Are we looking for a public place, specifically?
I live at a farm community on the western side of Eugene (rural, but about 15 minutes from downtown). I bet we could host a swap...

If you locals are facebookers, look me up: Dana McGuire
