I am glad you settled on a location for the Fall Swap. I think the fairgrounds will be a great place for it! Looking forward to attending another one, and hoping I will be able to participate in bringing stuff this time.

On a totally different note....I am wondering if any of you on this thread may know someone that could help me out in finding a very good quality Golden Laced Polish cockerel....something in the 6 month old range perhaps? I thought I would ask here since you are mostly in my region, plus I have come to trust your chicken knowledge. Thanks.
 
October. Good, I should have apples and maybe grapes to bring. The ducks should be sorted out by that time and I'll know whether I have any ducks available.

I don't suppose we have a qualified NPIP inspector in our group? If I obtain birds at the swap, it would sure be dandy to get them tested on the spot and not have to pay the inspector to come back out to my place and pay another field call.
 
GnarleyDogFarm, yes, I am interested in Oregon Gray turkeys from you. I'm building myself 2 incubators, one for incubating and one for hatching, so I can stagger the hatch and have different ages of eggs in the incubator. I'm hoping to have 3 large trays with slightly over 4 inches of depth per tray, so I can hatch goose eggs.

If I can get them to work and maintain proper heat and humidity, I've got a cabinet maker who is interested in building cabinets for incubators for me.

If ZooMummzy is going to pay a cleaning deposit in a building with a concrete floor, we'll all have to be very careful about our chicken poop.
