Hi all! Whew I had a lot of pages to catch up on!
tongue.png
My computer bit the dust so I had to wait until my daughter came home so I could use her laptop.

DancingHen, I would love some Raspberry starts, pretty please.

Cloverleaf I am sending you a PM about the beautiful trio I got from you at the swap. I have a "still new to this" question.
smile.png

Have a great day everyone.

Oops. Sorry, this is actually Slurrywidow not jibs. I can't figure out how to logout from her name and log in on mine. I feel silly.

Have a great day everyone.

I will be sure to bring some for you.

I will know closer to the swap how many I have available....but my guess is at least 20 or 30. These things are growing like crazy! Good thing I love raspberries.

Well I know now why chicken coops are so dang expensive!!
barnie.gif
I've been outside all morning (beautiful day!!) working on a coop for my egg layers.
yippiechickie.gif
OMG! I feel like I worked my butt off and it's still not near completed!
hit.gif
Of course, the first part of the morning I spent yelling at the dogs. Why do they always want to 'help'! And if they weren't under foot, boredom made them start digging! Which caused more yelling. Finally had to put them in the house.
smack.gif
(stupid dogs, prettiest day and they are in the house) I hope these darn chickens appreciate all the work!
D.gif

Now that everyone is healthy and back to normal, I have my brooder full with new laying hens.
ya.gif
They are actually a little older, but I don't have a place for them yet (the coop I'm working my butt off on) They have started putting on feathers, so they really don't need the brooder. I have 2 orpingtons (one I already had) 2 Ameraucanas, and 2 Delawares. Plus the 3 silkies. So I should have lots of 'colorful' eggs!
clap.gif
(when they finally start laying) I'm not going to keep any roosters with them, at least not now. Maybe I will have a cooler full of eggs for the swap!
idunno.gif
I love fresh eggs!

Hope everyone is enjoying the lovely weather this weekend.

ZooMummzy, hows the babies?
jumpy.gif
How many did you finally have hatch?
yippiechickie.gif

I finally got Angus in a bigger cage,
clap.gif
but I still get the smaller one out at night and he is still sleeping with me!
hide.gif
He watches a little tv with us(me and the dogs) then watches me on the computer. Then when it's time for bed, he goes in the little cage (I think it is for traveling with a lg rat or guinea-pig), I put the sheet over half the cage (I have a fan going in the room and I'm afraid it might be too cold for him) He curls up with his head under his wing and goes to sleep.
love.gif
It is so cute. Jim isn't too happy.
rant.gif
He works nights, so he isn't home when we are sleeping. When he comes home in the morning,
somad.gif
first thing, he wakes me up so I can get Angus out of the bed!! LOL

Well, I guess break is over. Back to work I go.....

I absolutely love your updates! They always bring a smile to my face...and a giggle or two. Glad all is going well with you and your babies. Love the rooster in bed visual...that is something I haven't done, yet lol. Yep, coops are a you know what lol. It took us all summer to build ours and I never want to go through that again! All my babies are doing great! They are flying all over the cage now (all still have bright yellow legs!) and getting their wing and tail feathers. After Critters took hers (how are they by the way??), I have 14 that I'm going to grow out. I have several people in line for pairs, trios and quads so I'm hoping to fill some of those requests with these. I am putting a dozen in tonight - mainly Dusty's and Fawn's with a few of Zephyr's - to hatch. Other than that, I'm just trying to keep up with my egg auctions, egg requests and keep the waiting list sorted out

My 3 babies are doing great ZooMummzy. I finally got brave and moved them onto shavings tonight. That was sooo exciting and they are now all napping. Getting a kick out of them. Love the little upright pokey tail feathers
big_smile.png

I had a great weekend - two baby goats sold (only one left I wanted to keep anyway). Saxony ducks up to the barn in their new "temporary" pen and call ducks in their above ground pen. (I know now I do have an extra saxony drake so unless I craigslist him, he'll come to the swap.) Horse fence checked and horses turned out to the woods/pasture. All pens clean and ready in case I have any success with my east indies eggs. I have two that pipped but from what I read it could be like two days

for ducks,
ep.gif
is that true? Good thing I have to work. I was so hoping for a lot but maybe for the best.
I will soon be shopping for another incubator buuut no more hatching until pre swap. Maybe brinsea?
too gabby, off to rest.
Oh yeah, the people that bought my goats - they were excited to hear about the swap. They want heritage chickens. They saw my dominiques from Walltenters - I was sure to tell them they could see more at the swap.

That's awesome Critters...so glad to hear it! I moved mine to wood pellets last week too. Didn't even phase them lol. I'm so anxious to see how yours turn out. You took the only silvery blue one so it will be cool to see it in a few weeks. All the ones I have now are about the same except the black one but that means nothing at all with these guys - they change all the time!
