Oregon Fall Poultry Swap - October 22 - Corvallis @ the Fairgrounds!!!

Whew! What a list we have goin' on!

Since the list is so large and there are quite a few people listed on there that I haven't seen around the thread since it started back in the spring, I am going to be sending PMs to those people to confirm they are indeed still attending. I have experienced at every swap people asking "where is so and so, they had something on their list I wanted". Since this list is public knowledge now and there are quite a few people checking out our website everyday to see what is coming and what is wanted, I thought this would be a good thing to do this time around. Also, please review your lists and make sure they are correct. I know I check and see what others want from me, but I'm not sure everyone looks at the entire list. It might be a good idea if you PM the person if you see something you want. I will be sending those PMs too for the items I want and also asking prices. If you know the price of your items, please feel free to put them on your lists. It really helps.

Thanks and I'm getting soooooo excited!

Zoomummzy, I think you might've accidentally mixed mine up with someone else's. I was wanting the dark brahma, cheesecake, and honey - not bringing them.

Sorry if I mixed you up in my last post.

Lol sorry everyone....let me go fix that. I am operating on very little sleep after the hatch this weekend and my sick chick. I actually just dozed off just now while feeding her lol....

Thank you for reminding me about this information. It is on the website but not here. Admission and parking is free. If you are bringing something to swap or sell, we are asking for a cash donation or raffle item.

The surgery is the only cure for it, and there is an AMAZING bird vet at North Portland Animal Hospital named Dr. Weinstein. Otherwise I would at least put her on antibiotics for now, though that's only a temporary fix. You can put her on the tetracycline powder that you can get at the feed store, it goes in their water, BUT the water HAS to be changed every day...don't know if your DH would be willing to do that....

Took a big chunk of the day. But I started with my dog's Vet, (who gave me a number, then that clinic gave me another number and so on and so on..............! Taking her, first thing in the morning.

I did get my hubby to help me and we looked (at both feet) real good. Scrubbed with warm water and anti-bac soap. Kept her in house for awhile (she hated it) But I wanted to make sure she was eating and pooping normal (everything going in and coming out, is A-OK!) So to keep her from getting totally stressed out, I let her back out in the yard. There is no opening(sore or cut) in her foot, so I don't think she can get it too dirty between now and in the morning. She went right over to her 'sister' (the other americana) when I set her down. (She is ok once she is picked up, she just isn't as friendly as the delawares or the silkies.) The delawares will jump in my lap if I sit outside. And the silkies, well,... are.... just silkies.

Any who, I feel better now that I know of someone, here in Vancouver, will see chickens. (I was almost ready to say screw it, and call the one in Portland) But I have a feeling that I'm going to be charged more for this 'special' service, so the less I have to drive the better. (Got to save money somewhere)
Thanks everyone for the support. I feel comfortable with meds, bathing, taking care of certain injuries,(I have given IVs to pet rats and assisted Vets during operations)(I worked in a few different clinics while going to school); but 'cutting' an animal myself while they are 'awake', I don't think so!!
