Sounds good on the cheesecake..I love making that one! It also allows me to go to Market of Choice to buy the Madagascar vanilla beans and look around

Thank you, it's just been a horrible week! I'm not embarrassed to say that lol. To top it all over, my daughter is moving out this weekend

I have been a basketcase. Lol she is only moving 10 minutes away, into Corvallis, but she is the first to leave home and it's killing me.

The first one to leave is always the hardest. I worried every night and said prayers for months after my each of my girls left for college.

I have no idea how I'm going to handle it ...not well I'm sure for awhile but I am trying to be brave lol. She just works down the street at the bakery so I will be seeing her everyday I'm sure but the whole not sleeping here, being here thing is really hard for me to grasp and accept right now. I don't remember it being this hard when I moved out

I would like their pelts if you freezer camp them. I love saddle feathers!

THey are yours if I get to "freezer camp" in time lol.

Thanks!

I will make you something cool to remember them by if you like.

Someday I will post pics from the rennaisance faire with all the hair combs and pins I made. I have the pictures, just need to upload them.

If ANYONE would be interested in a bantam Wheaten Cubalaya cockerel...I had to separate him out from his hatch mates today, the other two boys are beating the TAR out of him, and I was afraid they were going to kill him, he's quite a bit littler than the other two which aren't very big themselves. I don't want to put him on CL because I am afraid someone will try to use him for fighting. He's FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Update on my limping hen: Liberty spent most of the day at the vet's clinic. Mostly just being observed. Good news, it isn't bumblefoot!! Bad news, they aren't a 100% sure what is going on. They are thinking she has just pulled a tendon or something of that sort. No infections anywhere and nothing broken. The doc put her on a pain type medicine to make her comfortable till it has time to heal. I feel better. She has started her meds and will finish them about the time I will be leaving. So now to keep fingers crossed, that is all she has got going on. And I won't have to worry about her while I'm away!

I guess that is good news?

I hope she gets better in time. You are a good chicken mommy

I wish we had a chicken vet down here. Mine will see chickens but she doesn't know too much about them. We learn together lol. I will keep good thoughts for Liberty.

I just received an email from an outsider vendor who is bringing chicks and she was asking about outlets for heat lamps. Yes, there are outlets. I would to make sure that the people bringing chicks get to have their tables near these for safety. We don't want a lot of cords running all over the place for people to trip. I'm not sure how many there are, but if you start setting up and see one near you and you don't need it, please move over a bit to allow space for someone who might need it

Thank you!

I plan to attend the meetup, can you hang on to him until then?? I would LOVE to have a new roo. I have banties now so another smaller one is no biggie!

I usually eat my chickens, but if you're not comfortable with that, then let me know and I'll keep him for life. Mostly eating them is to keep the numbers manageable... Either way let me know. Thanks!
