Awww they are so sweet! Have they started crowing yet? Anyone know how loud a D'Uccle's crow is? Lol I seriously should not even be considering another roo since I have 10 Serama roos in my house right now but I have two Mille Fleur D'Uccles and I would love a porcelain one.

They have not started to crow yet. But I would LOVE it if you wanted one.

I think these two boys are pretty special, and I would love to see them get homes where they would be pets.....not dinner. I would love to see one of them get a chicken mom that so obviously cares for her birds!

They are between 7 and 8 weeks old now....Cloverleaf could give you their exact hatch date. They are both feathering out really nice with lovely colors. The boy in the top photo is especially nice looking in person. And they are both frienly sweeties...really easy to handle and enjoy attention. I do hold them every day. Can't help myself. I got 6 chicks from Cloverleaf, and 3 turned out to be roos. I decided I could keep one....wish I could keep them all. These boys are really great. Anyway, hopefully I managed to tempt you a little more.

Lol oh you did....I really would like one. I need to ask though if they have been outside or not? The reason I ask is my Mille Fleur girls are inside chickens and I don't want to introduce anyone who has been outside. Let me know about that....and I guess if one turns out to be quieter than the other. My husband is so going to kill me

I need to get a couple chickens moved out of the cage that are with the Mille Fleurs too before I put a roo in there. I'm in the process...once again...of redoing my cages in my chicken room so hopefully the timing will work out?

And no, the little guy would not be food ever. I don't eat my chickens

I am kind of sad that my incubators are now quiet and empty. Of course yesterday we moved the brat pack (brooder chicks) to a pen to do some growing out time. The LF Salmon Favs from Cloverleaf hatched a week ago and are broadcasting online LF Salmon Fav peeps and a few friends.

Those little pin cushions are darling... if you have a pattern to share please PM me the details.

Pm'd you the instructions. Super simple.

I love the brooder cam. The picture quality is amazing. I have it up in the background. Isn't hatching non-shipped eggs nice? After the hatching the 2 from Cloverleaf under the broody and my home grown MFCs it's amazing how messed up shipped eggs are. No red rings of death, no late demise, no curled toes, no failure to hatch...blah blah blah, All things I have experienced with shipped eggs.

Come on y'all...the more the merrier!

I've had quite a few requests for more Seramas so I've decided to break my "no hatching" statement

and pull out the incubator this summer. I should still have plenty of eggs for those of you who wanted some to hatch as testers. I will try to have some ready for new homes by late July/mid August and probably more for the swap. By the time the swap arrives, I should have some from my silkied and frizzled pens too. This summer it will just be smooth ones. Let me know if anyone else is interested in some Serama babies

I'm putting together an updated album of my breeding Seramas so I will post it as soon as it's done. While they don't breed true to color, I should get some really interesting mixes from my birds!

I know, that red glow coming from my laundry room window makes it look like I'm running something other than a chicken facility. I have a brooder unit with the heater built in. It uses a pancake thermostat to regulate the temps. I love it for the newest babies.

I am in the finishing stages, I should be done with my Gecko swap squares from the craft thread. I do have sheep showing to do this summer. When are the squares due by?

I can't tell you how much I like the Ecoglo over using the red lights. You may not see them all the time since they are under the heater but I really like the size, it uses next to nothing in juice and is not hot to the touch. I really think the peeps sleep better at night. They are warm and its not almost daylight 24/7.
