It's like there's something missing if there aren't babies in the house.

A real empty nest syndrome!

I can't tell you how much I like the Ecoglo over using the red lights. You may not see them all the time since they are under the heater but I really like the size, it uses next to nothing in juice and is not hot to the touch. I really think the peeps sleep better at night. They are warm and its not almost daylight 24/7.

I think I need to look into one too. Other than it looks like I have a grow operation in my house lol the cost has been off the charts (per my husband)!

I am in the finishing stages, I should be done with my Gecko swap squares from the craft thread. I do have sheep showing to do this summer. When are the squares due by?

At the swap in October. You have plenty of time. I was thinking of hopping over to the Hobby thread and offering it to the quilters over there but that would make a lot more work for me. Probably should just leave it as a Fall Swap activity, just amongst us. I'll PM you the instructions anyway. You'll see how simple the block is.

I want another pair! I love my indoor chickens! I had thought of getting another hen for Frankie, but Jonnie is a little on the pushy side.

I'm afraid she might not want another hen in 'her' henhouse! But I do have another cage that would be perfect for a trio! I had Frankie and Jonnie in it and it was just too big, I moved them to another one that I have sitting on a table. They seem happier.
hugs.gif
My last order for feed, I picked up a package of those dried mealworms. OMG! They love those!
love.gif
I only give them a few a day. It says on the package to serve them like it's desert!
Back to the seramas, I hope you are able to get some eggs from the lighter colored ones. Or even the silkied or frizzled.

So if you get any pairs or trios together that are different in color and/or feathered then what I have now, put my name on them!
Thanks,

You can see the Salmon Favs using it if you visit the peeps broadcasting channel

Awesome!! I will definitely put your name on a trio. I have another request for a trio too. I really shouldn't be, lol but I'm so happy to be hatching again. It's weird, I get to this point where I'm just sick of it; I don't want to see or hear another baby chick but then something clicks and I need it. Lol I'm just weird I think

I will probably set some after my daughter graduates, so mid to end of June and since you can usually tell with Seramas by 4 weeks, sometime in August I will have your babies

I'm a little far,

but I wouldn't mind having one of the little guys. Can he be put outside? I could keep him with my silkies for now, till I get my other houses completed. I have been trying to get a group of D'Uccle chickens started. I have a couple of Mille fleur eggs in the incubator now. I have never seen a porcelain one. The are beautiful! I might have to get 2 coops going, one for mille fleur and now for porcelains.

So if you don't have anyone else wanting him (closer to you) I'll work something out with you and give him a home. (we don't eat our babies either) Roos happen to be my favorite. If they wouldn't fight and be so loud, I would have nothing but roos!

Awww another great Chicken Momma

Roos are my favorite too; I just love them. Maybe we could work something out for when/if I pick up mine (I'm waiting to hear if they have been outside or not)? We could meet again up in the Portland area. I have to deliver some things to Cloverleaf at some point this summer.

Depending upon schedules I may be able to be a transport.. I have no problem making a road trip to Canby

...maybe bring something home too ... Ridgefield/Vancouer is like nextdoor

Laura, keep me in mind if you end up with extra yellow legged chicks. I lost my littlest chick yesterday - I don't know what happened, we were gone all day for baseball tournament, and when I got home last night he was laying on his back, under the heat lamp but cold anyway. He was drinking via a syringe for a while, but then stopped doing even that....
