Maybe it's me or my crummy computer but I couldn't get the link to work for the pdf. I'll post this flyer all over it I can get it.

Oh boy, am I REALLY doing this??? Yeah I'm already antsy to go, but putting into text what I'll be a sucker for is a sure admission that I'll be liable to be coming home with more birds and I'm trying so very hard to deny that right now!

If my hubby finds this I'm in trouble!

I'm not really supposed to be considering growing my already out of hand flock. Tee hee hee!
Eh, here goes:

Bringing:
*Assuming I can get myself a substitute at my regular farmers market booth...
Ceramic chicken-themed garden stakes, hummingbird feeders, maybe magnets etc.
6 black silkies (they'll be 8 months old then, currently I have no idea of the sexes.)
I build coops, tractors, etc. so maybe a portable coop/tractor???

Want:
Bantam cochins- especially frizzles!!!

I'm sure I'll update & refine this as we go but it's a start!

Hi,
I see that you build coops.

What kinds? How big? How much are you asking for one? I've been looking, found a few I liked, but I'm always looking out for that 'one'.

Thanks,

Oh your list will get much longer by the time October rolls around

If you can't get the link to work (some people couldn't last time around either) I can email it you. Just send me an email and I reply. The original format is in Office 2007 but I can also email it as a PDF if that is better.

I'm fairly new to all of this and I'm still toying with all sorts of designs, etc. I focus heavily on practicality and durability. Here's a few fics of finished ones:
My 4' x 8' tractor:
It's sized to fit over my raised beds but it spends most of its time scooting around my yard. Most of it it 2x2 fir construction. One end has an "upstairs" that is more weather proof and has the nest box. I'm still tinkering with it but something like this for sale would be stained, spiffed up and around $250

This is my first "Cricket's Coop":
It was 3' x 5' with an enclosed, weather proof top section, suntuf roofing, and all fir was stained for longevity. The enire front side of the roof was hinged for easy access & cleanout. There was an egg collection door on one side and the other end had a meshed over closable door for added ventilation. There was also a hinged ladder for the hens for easy access to the ground and the ladder could be raised and secured from the outside via a cable. The bottom whole front opened via 2 large doors that are big enough for an adult to crawl through. I sold this one for $550 to a lady who moves it around her yard weekly and loves it. I have more pictures somewhere but they elude me at the moment.

I've got more to come, that's what happens when you go crazy buying chicks!

I'll post pics as I finish new ones.

I love Pistils. I used to live not far from Mississippi in Alberta Arts. EVERYTHING at Pistils is on the expensive side though they do have really nice stuff!

My friend got her Dorking and Jaerhon from them last year. They are very nice birds.

Girlie...normally I am quite the enabler, but what the heck are you gonna do with MORE chicks??? LOL
gig.gif

Oh good lord, I've heard of people doing this, but couldn't imagine it myself....until now...lol

I realized that I forgot to lock down some chicks last night (wasn't feeling well, didn't do much of anything for the last 24 hours). Went to lock down 40-ish eggs, and there was a chick all fluffed up sitting in the incubator!
th.gif
What I want to know is, why in the heck do I still have issued with shrink wrapping in a 70% humidity hatcher, when a chick hatches all by itself and is just fine in around 20% humidity in the incubator??? (I dry incubate, so it varies from about 16-25%, and I'm guessing 20-ish today with the rain).
