On the list of what I am bringing to the swap, I said I would bring Aloha culls. Since I represent the entire western branch of the Aloha project (Arizona being the world headquarters!) I figured many of you won't know what they are. So I decided to share pics so ya'll can see them! The pics below are the whole flock. I will be keeping 2 boys and many of the girls. I have 24 in all, but many of them, as well as some Buff orps and Speckled Sussex that I got to breed with them, will be at the swap!
Rather that try to paraphrase the goals and origins of the Aloha project, I decided links would be better.
The link link below is pics of the parents of my chickens:

And this one is about the project its self:

This one has pics of the original Swedish flower hens that inspired the project:

If anyone is interested in the project, let me know and I might be persuaded to part with some of the better girls too so we can have more local people working on the project. Even if no one says they want to help out, I am considering bringing the culls in sets (2-4 pullets with a cockeral) to see if I can spread the spotted chickens
and give some of my runner-up roos a chance. What do you guys think- will I be able to unload them in sets? And what would one ask for a set?
Nameless (roo-maybe keeper)
Buttercup (roo- probable cull)
Flecks (hen-keep? cull?)
Digit (hen-keeper)
A closeup of Digit (another pullet whose name will change when the 7 year old who claimed her settles on a new one)
Cuckoo (roo- cull)
Red hens (keep or cull?)
Snowflake and Goldy (hens- keep, I think)
Snowflake or Sprinkles (hen- keep)
Sprinkles (hen-keep) and Easter (roo-maybe keep)
Bluetail (roo- possible keeper)
Here's Big Bluetail in more detail:
Chair thieves!
Easter (roo- maybe keep)
Calli (hen- keeper)
Peach (roo- cull)
Blackbeak Larry (hen- keeper and My favorite)
Here's me and Blackbeak Larry (Don't let her piratey name fool you, this little pullet is the diva of the flock!)
Puffy and Bluetail (hen-keep and roo-possible keeper)
Some of my bigger, plainer girls (maybe keep):
Nap time!
Almost everyone is in this one... ignore the Columbian Wyandotte and the Silver Laced Polish!
Anyone interested in one of the roos, claim him now. I will only be taking a few good ones to the swap, the others, sadly, will end up in freezer camp.
