We visited a small country fair that is out of Longview, WA towards the coast yesterday. Noticed in the small animal barn (chickens / bunnies) there was a chicken that the judge marked on the card quarantine, MITES. Are chickens not get looked at when they are checked in for showing? I know my sheep had to be inspected before I could even unload from my trailer at our local fair.

I was thinking it might be fun to show but now I am not so sure. Is this type of thing common? Their space for chickens was small and they only had this bird one cage away from others on both sides. It was brought in on a Wed and still on the grounds Sat, the last day of the fair. Why not ask them to take their buggy bird home?????

That is extremely common at fairs, which is why I don't take extra birds to fair. We only brought Garett's one required bird. In general people that show in open shows, like Stevenson, take it a bit more seriously and it's not an issue.
