I am not a chicken owner yet, but plan on getting 3-4 in July when I move to Arizona. Would it be OK if I stopped by and just checked things out?
Thinking about getting two easter eggers, RIR and a black sex-link when I get to Tucson. Maybe there will be breeds at the swap that would change my mind. Have had little interaction with all of the different breeds. I just like the idea of having blue and brown speckeled eggs for meals!
Thanks,
Bosque
Oooh Oooo I wanna go, but do I want to drive 7 hours one way... Hmmm, Plus Hubby works on the weekends, so I'd be doing it alone Hmmm....
I'll talk to hubby and see what I can work out, he could visit his brother in Yakama, WA, if he could get the day off?
What time are we looking at?
If I can make it, I'll have
3 week old Button Quail Chicks
Three 5 week old Cochin Chicks
One 5 week old OEGB Chick
and Several chicks under a week old that will be mix breed.
Also maybe a few Button Chicks under a week old.
Maybe some Chicken Art, we'll see how well my experimentations with Chicken Photography go, LOL.

I can't imagine that anyone would have an issue of you coming to drool over their chickens. I certainly wouldn't. My only concern is that someone might show up with a sick bird and I'd have to destroy my new, expensive birds (I'm buying some show line Welsummers from PinkChick). I plan to park a little ways away and whisk my new birds off to the truck as soon as I can. Then I'll come back and socialize and check out all the other birds and goodies.
Oh, if anyone really wants mint starts let me know. I have some volunteers this year and I can pot up a few in exchange for good wishes and friendship.
I love mint and and I have a natural garden I cant use pest control or anything in and was thinking mint makes a mild natrual pest repplent if I remmber and if its tenacios I can plant it in unlikely spots
