hmmm well it depends on how much it is and stuff but I would love at least 1/2 dozen whole wheat dinner rolls and one loaf of white bread. Im afraid I cant do more then that simply becuase its just me and my son and if I have home made bread around I eat it
On the other hand have you tried freezing then thawing and raiseing youre bread , you know how you can buy frozen dough in the store , well if you had dough that could be thawed and raised I could buy some more
or trade if you want button quail , as of now the eggs are dwindleing rapidly and a may not have many babies like I thought I would
Oh or I have some little mixed bantys that will be about 6 weeks old by then if someoen wants to request a few of them otherwise IM giveing them away, these were hatched here so should be clear of any bugs and such. One of them is a gray or blue pure OEGB the rest are a hodge podge as far as I can tell. Ones lookeing like a boy and one other is acting liek a boy but there only a couple weeks old so its hard to tell yet
I was wondering how many people on BYC and from Oregon are NPIP certified? I was wondering because I was checking into buying and selling with Washingtonians and if a bird crosses the border it is supposed to be either health checked by a vet (with all the tests) or from a certified flock. Once I get my certification then I will no longer be able to buy or trade with people without NPIP certification (or I have to have the birds tested again, which is a $25 visit fee plus $0.10/bird). I'm not planning to get certified until after the upcoming chicken swap so the people whom I've requested birds from don't need to worry.
I just thought, I could bring some alpaca fiber (raw, unwashed, not carded yet) for swaping. I have black, white, beige, light brown, medium brown, dark brown.
Thought I would start a post with what everybody has to offer so we have it all in one place. I'll update as new items are offered!

NPIP........Washington's is not as cost friendly as Oregon.
I have been researching NPIP here in WA State for quite a while now, matter of fact the paper work is sitting directly in front of me. I practice biosecurity measures as suggested in the biosecurity guide provided by the USDA.....I figure it can't hurt to practice these guidelines while I am on the fence with my decision.
Quote:
Yes, Oregon appears to be one of the more inexpensive states for NPIP. Initial fee of $25 for registration and then $25 for each trip (yearly if you only bring in NPIP birds) plus $0.10/bird tested. The price really isn't too bad for the piece of mind and if ALF/PETA gets a hold of the list and releases all of your birds they come right back anyway.
The biosecurity measures that you agree to when registering are really a good idea even if you oppose registration as a breach of your constitutional freedoms, especially since Avian Influenza has made it's way to Oregon.
