Oregon Washington Chicken Swap
June 13, 2009
3:00 pm
Cascade Gateway Park (Near I-5 & Hwy 22)
So go off on Hwy 22 and go West. Get in the left hand lane and turn left at the 2nd light, Turner Road. Take this past Lowes & WalMart. You'll turn left right at the end of WalMart's parking lot on to Cascade Gateway Park rd. As you pull in to the park there is a large lake on the right with a lot of parking but no shade (and I think shade will be important since some people are going to leave their chickens in their cars). So stay on the paved road and it will curve around to the left and go over the one-lane bridge to the back side of the park. As you come down from the bridge I think the best area would be over around all the way to the right as the road splits. It is the reserved area, but I would guess the Pavillion is saved and not the parking or grass area. There is a lot of grass back here and lots of trees.
Here is an older list of what people have available to swap (not 100% updated, sorry)

Quote:
My kids are 18, 12 (13 in Aug), 8 and 18 months. My oldest is a girl and the rest are boys. I seriously doubt I can talk my oldest into coming, but I'm the boys would be interested in seeing other peoples chickens. I don't know if telling your kids some boys their ages will do any good. Now, if they were girls, that would probably help. I could tell them to wear dresses.
(Sorry, it's quite late and I'm little kooky right now.)
Hey, as far as the potluck goes, 15 desserts wouldn't be a bad thing. It seems the desserts are always the things I want to try most. But, to be perfectly honest, I think I'd go into a sugar coma if that was really all there was.
Let's take a vote...Who wants to have a potluck? If you do, you can say what you want to bring and I'll keep track of it the way Bil is keeping track of the swap items.
Oh, and by the way, Bil, my roo is a Red Star, not a RIR. At least that was the consensus when I posted him here to see what he was. He was supposed to be a she!
Sorry Bil you will have to take my name off the list , I wont be able to come as I cant find a ride out there and back .
Everyone enjoy themselves extra for me though.
