Oregon folks (Washington too) - Chicken Swap in Salem on June 13!

Cleaning out the quarantine pen for new occupants was already #1 on my todo list for tomorrow.. I just have to force myself to be patient and care for them last when I do rounds next week. It can be difficult when I really want to see how my new birds are doing.

Great advise Silkiechicken! Thanks!

Lensters: I know, I know! It is hard to keep away from the newbies coming in, I get so excited to see them and learn who they are, I have to force myself to take care of them last on the rounds as well but such a good practice!

See you all Saturday. We will not be bringing food or be able to stay very long. BUMMER!

~Update~
I will only be bringing birds for Lensters and for Geebs at this time.

I do have 1 Salmon Faverolle cockeral left if someone would like him, he is not show quality but will make a beautiful backyard rooster!
I also have one Welsummer Cockeral left if someone would like him.

Let me know!

All of my Welsummers pullets are sold at this time. I may hatch out more later this summer ,or if someone would like some hatched out just let me know. I'm going to designate the rest of the summer to work on my Blue and Blue Wheaton Ameraucanas and my Blue and Splash Marans. I have a soft spot for blues, they are so pretty!

Can't wait for Saturday!
See you all then and drive safe.

Jan asked me to post this:

This is a Disk Golf Course at Cascade Gateway Park. You can go here http://www.robosushi.com/cascade/ to download a scorecard and print the map. There are also good directions to the park there.

This is near the lake when you first pull in to the park. We will be meeting somewhere near the back of the park. Looks like a fun thing for the kids to do. This might get the rest of my kids there!

Cascade Gateway Park (Near I-5 & Hwy 22)

So go off on Hwy 22 and go West. Get in the left hand lane and turn left at the 2nd light, Turner Road. Take this past Lowes & WalMart. You'll turn left right at the end of WalMart's parking lot on to Cascade Gateway Park rd. As you pull in to the park there is a large lake on the right with a lot of parking but no shade (and I think shade will be important since some people are going to leave their chickens in their cars). So stay on the paved road and it will curve around to the left and go over the one-lane bridge to the back side of the park. As you come down from the bridge I think the best area would be over around all the way to the right as the road splits. It is the reserved area, but I would guess the Pavillion is saved and not the parking or grass area. There is a lot of grass back here and lots of trees.

Here is an older list of what people have available to swap (not 100% updated, sorry)

um, ok, a bit embarassed here... LOL Does anyone have any eggs (yeah, just regular eating/cooking ones - not for hatching) I used all mine making coffeecakes for tomorrow and realized that someone here might have some to trade/sell rather than stopping ar the store, I have almost 70 chicks but they are too young to lay for a couple months. Anyone? if so bring them tomorrow (let me know if you can so I don't get a dozen or so from 8 diff people...Thanks, Leslie Oh yeah, made 8 coffeecakes today (two for family the rest to bring for trades or potluck..)
