Oregon Spring Chicken Swap!! SAT, April 24!! Albany OR **UPDATED MAP*

You're the gal that I went in with for the SLW last year and who bought some of my EEs. I kept expecting to hear back from you as I can't vent sex EEs to save my life. I hear from my feed store customers that it is a "breed" thing as the big hatcheries that sell sexed EEs aren't getting close to their 90% guarantees.

Anyway, I have an order of unsexed, bantam BLRWs coming from Dick Horstman towards the end of the month. Like the SLWs I only plan to keep one hen and sell the others. I can set one aside for you if you would like.

Len

Len, yes that's me! Well you got lucky then because they we're girls! I actually ended up with an SLW cockerel from the hatchery though! Re-homed him no problem...
Thanks for the offer on the BLRWs but I need standard hens to keep the peace in my yard, I'm pretty sure the existing ladies would take it out on bantams too hard, part of why I need adults too...
Saw someone posted they got some from Cedar Creek Lofts? May see if I can arrange something with them....

Sorry about the SLW, I guess Privett didn't make their 90% accuracy on those.

Lucas (Cedar Creek Lofts) has really beautiful birds. I tried to talk him into being an egg supplier for my hatchery but he wants more for his eggs than Dick Horstman does for his chicks, and Dick is nationally known in the poultry showing world. Anyway, if you do get a bird from Lucas, even a cull will probably be really nice.

My SLW and my new BLRW are/will be in with the EE breeding flock. The queen of that flock keeps her underlings from fighting so I think I'll be ok with a bantam in the mix as long as she doesn't piss off "Big Black Queenie".

No worries about the SLW, He was a handsome bird, too bad we can't have roos! Thanks for the info on Lucas, I heard back from him tonight, he's willing to part with a bird this summer once it's old enough to hold her own with mine! My "queen" is actually my Barred Rock, suprised me a little, my previous wasn't that way!
Looks like I'll FINALLY get my BLRW, after a year of hunting!! SOOO excited
