Oregon Spring Poultry Swap April 23, 2011 in Canby!!!

I'm pretty sure this is chicken math: a new chicken loving friend comes to pick up 1 chick; leaves with 4 and gives me 1 in return?

Marnie, Meg, Pandora and Greta are no longer available. They are going to live on a 140 acre farm near Stayton. Well, Marnie is going to be a house chicken, the others will have 140 acres lol

In return, she left me an adorable little Turken that I promptly stuck under my broody Silkie who is hatching babies right now.

I can't stand this - you guys have totally infected me with need for more chickens - I need a vaccine for chicken fever!!! I totally want some honey from Zanna and marans hatching eggs. I plan to look at any available silkies but am praying I can get some control as I am seeing MANY others I might want/need. I'll pray all you other addicts buy up my "needs" before I can see them. The 12 house chicks are growing, the outside replacement hens should be laying soon, and I ordered some ducks (what??). Then of course tomorrow night I pick up some eggs to "practice" with in the incubator before I buy my marans. I'm too excited as she has all kinds (fav, sussex, etc). It is logical to do a "test" run on an incubator, don't you all think so?? I may have to start reading this on the sly so as not to scare my DH. I was doing a little better before I actually joined.

P.S. I have shared the head against the brick wall as my new "work icon" this week with my co-workers. Now if I could just infect them with chicken fever. OOOH, April here we go.

Haves - none yet, still too young and cute as chicks (did I hear you do this twice a year??)

Wants - marans hatching eggs
Honey from Zanna

Zoomummzy, that is the most adorable picture!!! Would you trade some honey for a cheesecake?? Will have to decide on a flavor.........

Glad there is so much interest in the honey! If you guys could PM me with approx. how much you would like and if you are going to bring your own containers or want me to fill what I have that would be helpfull. I store it in 5 gallon buckets and have several with honey gates that I could bring for easy filling of containers. Also open to barter/trade or purchase so let me know what you have.
