Glad the others are doing great though!! It could be that the one is a roo. Keep an eye on comb color in the next few weeks, the boys really start to pink up around 4-6 weeks.

I would love some honey!! I'll PM you, but I'll ask a question here for others: does non-pasteurized honey need to be kept in the fridge, or do you need to do anything differently than you would with honey you buy from the store?? Fresh honey sounds wonderful!!!

I LOVE HONEY!! I just bought some from a guy in Salem whose grandfather gathered from a wild hive 10 years ago and the stuff is amazing! But yes, would love some honey too!

Are you saying you don't have the Maran roos anymore or Marans anymore?

You got it! Do you want the Blue Ribbon with blueberries swirled through it or the Blueberries and cream in my list with the butter cookie (nilla wafers) crust? I can do either.

No honey needs to be kept refridgerated, it will last indefinitely. Non-pasteurized will crystallize fairly quickly (especially if you put it in the fridge), to re-liquify without killing all of the good enzymes in it, putting the container of honey in your dishwasher or in your car on a hot day works well.

five of my maran roos were definite culls so they went to freezer camp and I am still growing out four..........I only currently have one hen who is not breeder quality but lays a lovely dark egg and 18 eggs in the incubator due to hatch next weekend. Slow start for my breeding project of choice but Rome was not built in a day

I am not going to breed until I have a roo that meets the SOP, the four I still have may not even make the cut, we shall see.
