The paper doll is cousin Carl he is making trips all over the united states last weekend he was visiting Arizona and made a trip all the way here just to visit our chicken swap.
Oh and the crazy woman would be my Mother i came by my nuttiness the old fashion way i inherited it.
Dont feel bad she didn't just harass the chickens and bunnies Office Joe from the Canby police department was nice enough not to draw a gun on crazy lady as she ran across the park to get Carls first picture in a cop car. And i am crossing my fingers that this will be the only time that cousin Carl spends time in a cop car.

Mind if I keep those pics on my computer?? The babies in the bottom pic are the Fav/d'Uccle crosses, I am AMAZED I brought all 3 pairs back home with me....onto CL they go....

ooh, can I use that pic on my CL ad???

I loved that picture too! Totally BYC photo of the week worthy!

I did see a lady holding Carl, what cool pictures!

The police officer was very nice I thought, he doesn't have a coop built yet but he is getting chickens! Muwahaaa!!!

Also, I've posted a thread for the SUMMER Swap! Yep, sooner than you expected! This one is going to be in Central Oregon - hopefully Bend. I love Bend, but it's full of (and I say this with total love), yuppies willing to pay an arm and a leg for anything in a green paper wrapper with a word that even starts to sound like heirloom or organic on it, SO COME ON OVER!!! Bring your Subaru's!

Hey, I resemble that Subaru comment!

Lol... For a long time I felt like I was the only person living in Bend that didn't own a subaru! Now I'm back living in Madras (about an hour north of Bend, for those not familiar) and my slightly banged up Ford Taurus fits right in

Seabreeze- Those 2 Midget poults are unrelated, so if you do not eat them and they are opposite sex, you can make more!

They are very friendly little darlings. When I step into the brooder, all the turkeys come running to see me and get petted like a cat. I really like them, wonderful birds.

Thank you all for a wonderful swap. Great meeting people and putting faces with names. Thank you all for teaching my DH chicken math. Planned to get 4 more chickens and came home today with 8 hens and 1 roo Big Red. Love him has a great crow. 2 of the Black Sex Links layed today and yesterday. My brother in law and sister in law came and enjoyed them self They are already asking about the fall swap and want to get their own chickens. DH says he is glad he provided the entertainment of the roo chase. He say that at 59 it took a lot out of him. He had to pull over a take a nap before we went to his brother house in Newberg but he was the one who wanted Big Red so he got to chase him. Glad to met you all.

Gnarley, those two poults are just darling!!! I have them in with the slightly larger lemon blue LF cochins and they are the most alert and calm in the bunch! Totally different than the Bourbon Reds I have in the other brooder with the Marans chicks! I sure hope those two are M/F, then I could raise me up some midget whites and not worry about incubating them! (oh, better ask, do the hens go broody?)

My one Narangansett, we raised along with her brother (he heads up the other girls now), is quite sweet and loves to be petted and she is turning into A1 brooder gal!

Walltenters, that sounds VERY cool, a swap in Bend. No kidding the Yuppies will be *flocking*

especially those organic, green, pasture-free ranged, no medicated feeds type of birdies

I love Bend and where would it be held? No where in town but there are nice places on the outskirts if I remember correctly. Haven't been there in a couple of years.

It was a great time! Soap, honey, eggs, roosters galore!!! I have to get rest... getting 20+ birds into a 2 door coupe was a feat. Butchering them all in one night, after the swap, at my apartment, now that was something else.
