Oregon Spring Poultry Swap April 23, 2011 in Canby!!!

LOL!

I never knew the fruit thing called "goji berries" in English were so popular as a "superfood" since we put them in soups all the time as matter of course. Like how garlic and ginger are on everything, and soy sauce is a universal topping.

Well, I took a few of the dried fruits out of the pot on the stove that hadn't boiled yet when back home, and a few are starting to sprout after I planted them. LOL. Might have some plants for the fall meet. Did I just mention the fall meet before the spring one has happened?

Ok, I know all of you will understand. I sent the following to my sisters and neither one of them said a word, they just left it alone and I think it's funny! Anyway, here's what I sent them:

Ok, I have a confession to make...I love incubating and hatching chicks. I know it's a sickness, but there isn't any medication available for it and if there were, I'm not sure I would use it. I did hear of a support group called Hatcher's Annonymous, but I don't think there's a chapter in our local area. In fact, I don't think there's one in our state. I'm afraid I'm going to have to suck it up and rely on my own strength to carry me through this illness, knowing that there isn't a cure, hoping that it doesn't affect the rest of my family. Although I have noticed that my wife may be susceptible to it...but then again, that isn't anything new! I'm glad I only have the one chicken coop because it means I have limited space. Dad does have a stash of wooden pallets that he is storing for me, which could make a wonderful ghetto coop and I could attach it to the side of my coop...oh the possibilities!

I've seen some really nice 'pallet' coops. Acknowledging your illness and planning ahead would be wise!
