But now I have a new want that might be more amendable to apartment living. Quail!

I have to retract the turkey statement, as a 2 month old silkie in an apartment is easy enough to keep after... a 2 month old turkey on the other hand... I'd have to get that one back to washington much sooner! Quail on the other hand... Hmmmm... they aren't too much bigger than the cockatiel.

True but they are so noisy! The ones I kept here for Sherry...OMG. My family was about ready to throw me and them out. In the middle of the night they would let out this awful noise....just something to think about lol

How loud is loud?

We might be able to do loud. As soon as we make any noise in the morning, the birds realize their flock is awake and go into a morning screaming match. It certainly makes a good alarm clock. 3 parakeets screaming at the top of their ear piercing lungs, and then one young cockatiel wolf whistling across the entire apartment. LOL

You can hear them from the parking lot, but who's going to complain about birds chirping in the morning?

Now to youtube screaming quail noises! I'm sure it'll get the flock going here.
