Oregon Spring Poultry Swap April 23, 2011 in Canby!!!

This poultry swap is such a great idea. I hope I can drive over and check it out. I'm new to this forum, and pretty new to keeping chickens. I live on the Oregon Coast near Lincoln City. I don't have any birds to get rid of at the moment, but I REALLY want a couple of Mille Fluer D'Uccle pullets. That is the top item on my chicken wish list at the moment.

I had no idea this was going on but I'm stoked that I found this thread! I'll be there for sure and I think my mom's in town from New Orleans that week so it could be really dangerous if the boys let us go alone!!!!!!

Update:

"chickens I want to bring home with me list":

Cloverleaf - 2 Salmon Fav LF Pullets
OregonJen - BLRW chicks or pullets, a LF splash cochin pullet
Silkiechicken - Tomato starts (something with a shorter growing time, preferably. It has been known to snow in August here).
Tallyho - A breeding pair or trio of Mille Fleur Cochins
Illia - Tolbunt Polish X BCM hens
Zoomummzy - Babette & Nuria
Daze333 - 1 LF splash cochin hen, blue barred cochin hens, 1 dozen LF cochin hatching eggs, 2 splash marans pullets

Bringing:
For Daze333 - Mille fleur cochins trio, black cochin hen, 1 apple red rooster soap, 1 lilac horse soap
For Hokankai - 1 dozen MFC hatching eggs
For Silkiechicken - Watermelon soap
For Zoomummzy - Spring mountain mint, gardenia, lilac and lemongrass and sage soaps

Still Available to Bring:
5 Mille Fleur Cochin chicks (hatched on 3/15, will be 5 weeks at the swap, first choice to Sakchickens)
1 Mille Fleur/Black Cochin chick (hatched on 3/15)
2 Barred cochin hens, 1-1/2 years old
Standard Cochin Hens - 2 barred, 1 golden laced
Misc. Chicks (I ordered 25 of the Meyer Hatchery All Pullet Rainbow Pack - hatch date 3/23)

Wow I hope I can get this typed before my husband reads as he keeps looking over my shoulder with a scowl/smile on his face!

Zoomommy wondering if Babette and Gloria are available and if so can I buy/reserve them.

Want
Vanilla Extract x2
Wheaten Marans - either
BLRW and/or Splash BLRW - either
Brabanters - pullet
LemonBlue Cochins

Also is there a fee or registration or can we just bring things. The reason I ask is that I 'm going to have quite a few extra starts of tons of different Heirloom/Organic veg and flower starts that won't have made it to my garden. I also make origami flower lights and make things out of fondant as a cake artist.

Can't wait to meet you either!!

Babette is sold but Gloria is available. I do have other pullets available too. On the photos, it will say at the very bottom of the description if they are on hold or sold. If they say nothing, then they are available! Right now off the top of my head, Marnie, Rita, Muriel, Jillian and one other that I can't think of are still available.

My daughters might be interested in those lights! They are so cool!!! I will show them. How much are they???

Oh, and forgot...no, no fee at all. Bring whatever you want, as much as you want/can haul! Veggies and flowers are good!!!

Thanks I love making them. I'm currently working on a freestanding origami chicken. I usually sell a strand of 20 with the lights for 25 but we could probably just work something out in trade if you want. I'm a HUGE fan of bartering!!!

Some love for everyone tonight

I looked over and saw Dina and Zephyr settling in for the night (so they thought lol - they sleep in a cage). She absolutely worships him. It's the most amazing "coupling" I've witnessed between my chickens. I'm not really sure how she is going to handle me introducing new pullets to the mix next month lol
