Ok, do I bring the car or the pickup? As of right now, I'm not bringing any birds home, but you all know what the wife did at the last swap so it's a good thing we had the pickup!

Please add to my list of "Haves":
I will have Midget White poults and eggs available at the time of the swap. I will also have Oregon Grey turk poults and eggs too. Both limited availability. I have 4 Midget toms with 6 hens, so the eggs are flowing now and the genetic diversity is good.

And add this to my list of "Wants":
If anyone has Bourbon Red, Rio Grande, Merriam, or Eastern Wild poults or eggs, I want those.

Also... I am working on importing some unrelated Tamworth pigletts from the east coast, if you are interested, let me know. I was going to bring them home like a pet in a crate on the airplane, but if there is enough need, I will drive to get them. This trip will be this autumn, at the soonest, but I am making contacts now.

I have other schemes up my sleeve... at all times.

OH YEAH! This is a real odd "Want"... I want Armadillos! Yes, I said Armadillos. No, I am not going to eat them. I want them as pets.

YOU thought you were nuts? I have aspirations solidly grounded in thin air! lol

My mom is taking a road trip up here from Louisiana this summer. I'm not sure if you can wait that long but they run rampant where I'm from. Do you want them from a breeder, if there is that sort of thing, or just babies?!?!? Ayeupchick, I would be interested in 2 midget white poults (boy/girl possibility?) and what are Oregon Gray turks? I've seen them listed at the feed store. How do you keep your toms? Are they all together with the hens, or have you separated them out?

I'm not in a hurry for anything (except the Speckled Sussex roo, and it looks like he has a ride! THX Tallyho!).

Armadillos! WOW! I thought I was gonna just get laughed outta town! hehe. I will be ready for them by then. I'd like youngsters, orphans if possible or disabled is ok too.

Tamworth mission! I am talking with 1 breeder who has 4 sows and 2 boars, all unrelated. They are pastured and I think organic, not sure.

Sexing turk poults?! I can sorta guess, maybe, but no promiss! That is one of the skills I have not yet learned and I am desperate to.

Oregon Greys are rare, I would love to see them in a feed store! My trio is from Porter's. They are about 1.5 yrs old and the 2 hens are really laying! They are lovely. I like wild, natural-looking birds.

The Midget Whites are ranged over 5 acres and fed organic grains. I have 4 toms and 6 hens.

Gnarley, Coastal in Albany had them a couple of weeks ago. I had to do a double take but the big printed label said OREGON GRAY. Is there an Oregon Gray chicken? The tub was empty but the printed label caught my eye.

heheh, I just got an email from our neighbor saying that! I want them! I ordered 10 from McMurray's, but I can alter the order. THX!

What do you know about their genetics? Where are they from, are they related? I want breeding stock, but I am just trying the breed out right now to see if I want to pursue them, so I just need to know. I will have about 5-7 breeds before autumn.

It's official... you people are OK!

I threw that Armadillo thing out there and put my hard hat on, awaiting the beratement. However, you all got it! I am totally serious about wanting some as pets and I can take care of them.

I never expected such warm replies! My view of most people is that creatures like Armadillos are vermin and should be killed like rats. Maybe I am wrong! If so, it is the most pleasant wrongness I have ever experienced! I love all creatures (except fleas, ticks, mosquitos, you know...).
