Oregon Summer Poultry Swap, Redmond, June 18th

Hey, all -

I could really use some canning jars! So I'll give you 30 cents credit for each non-chipped pint, half-pint or 4oz canning jar you bring me (doesn't have to have lids or bands) - they charge the same for a dozen of any size, so whatever size (not the big quarts, though) you bring is cool. So, if perchance you have 10 jars sitting at home, bring 'em and you'll get a free 1/2 pint of jam!

Does that sound reasonable?

I now have strawberry jam to add to my "Bringing" - from fresh local strawberries - I have (10) 1/2 pints for $3 and (only 3) 4oz for $2.

Is anyone from Southwest Washington or the Portland area planning on going over to the Swap?

Sorry, just saw your question.

Actually, I think they are both pullets, but it's still a little early to say for sure. I'll let you know if one turns out to be a male. I would say they are pet quality though, so if you're looking for a breeder, these won't be up to par.

Yes, it's chunky strawberry! I chopped it all up, put in sugar, and jammed it!

I''ll put you down for 4. Thanks!

It's more chunky jam than jelly... though I might get another flat of strawberries and I could sieve some to make the clearer jelly... does it matter to you?

I have canning jars but they are large ones.....but if you can use them for something else like tomatoes, etc let me know and I can bring a box or two for you. They are kind of vintage looking too and nice heavy ones. I will take a Stawberry jam in addition to the others I already ordered.
