It's more chunky jam than jelly... though I might get another flat of strawberries and I could sieve some to make the clearer jelly... does it matter to you?

Nope, I love any strawberry spread made with real strawberries

I don't prefer one over the other, as long as they are made with real fruit. Also, store bought stuff just doesn't compare to homemade.

oh ok, so I"m not with you

I don't use clear jellies since I use them mostly with PB and much prefer the chunky fruit jams/spreads/preserves

! Nowadays, preserves are basically lumpy jelly IMPO. Not like they used to be

Okay, great! then I'll put you down for 3 half pints... looks like I'll have to make another batch! This is wonderful!

I'm also racing to get more chicken tea cozies and biscuit covers done -- and my sister in NJ got enthused, and she's making potholders! She also made me some wonderful tags for my sale stuff... it's cool to work together, since I don't see her much.

I"m trying to get her to send me a photo, so I can post it.

Will anyone there have a shade tent with room for me? I'll only have a card table. I don't know the area, and not sure if there's shade in the park, but I'm realizing I'll get heat stroke if I spend all day without shade, and I don't have a tent. Driving in from Sweet Home, I plan to spend the whole day there, and somehow I doubt it'll be cold and raining.

Just had jam on homemade buttermilk biscuits.

The only "downside" of making my own jam is that there's too much of it around!

CathyM, I think you really need to make more jam! I would love like at least five. I have a huge basement/root cellar and buy in bulk, and I have killed all but one of my strawberry plants, and it's more like a twig than a plant at this point. I only have big quart jars at home, so won't be bringing any jars, but I'm sure Rhonda and I would be happy to trade some hatching eggs, if you might be interested? Everyone loves hatching eggs!

If not, I'll pay hard cold cash!
