Oregon Summer Poultry Swap, Redmond, June 18th

Looks awesome! I love the format and cute chicken drawings. A couple of suggestions:

There are small errors, ie: "*Small animals poultry including livestock guardian dogs..." poultry should be after the word dogs, right?

Also, maybe put the whole web address to this thread, so that newbies won't have to hunt so much.

Edited to say that I just showed it to my husband and he said he didn't see any errors, so I am probably just having mental processing issues. I have been painting all day so I'm blaming it on the fumes

Cathy M, yes, I will have a shade canopy and you are very welcome to join me. There is 1 other person who might make it to the swap and might not, but I don't have much stuff, so 3 of us will fit very nicely.

Bring your own lawn chair and table. No smoking under the canopy, please (I'm allergic to tobacco).

No, I see what you're saying. Of course, I've been painting too! Paint fumes for all of us!!!

I changed it to

*Poultry, Small animals (including Livestock Guardian Dogs)*, crafts, plants, starts, seeds, preserves, fruits and vegetables are all allowed. ALL ANIMALS MUST BE PROPERLY CONTAINED.

I will wait until we see if there are any other changes needed before uploading the updated one.

Seabreeze I think that's fine. Just please keep them on the leashes, but it would be a great place to make contacts too if anyone might be looking for a pup in the future or other breeders.

I guess I just got burned on people and their poorly mannered dogs at the last swap when the little rat dog was growling and barking at my (obviously terrified) cockerel and the lady thought it was SOO CUTE!!!! Yah. We'll see how cute it is when I let the bird out of the cage.

Kind of off topic, but am I the only one with a Labrador LGD? Our young lab (3 years) helps me round up the chicks (best she can anyway... she's not exactly border collie herding quality, but she tries!) and she totally protects them from the cats when they are "free ranging" in the yard. I keep a close eye on her, but she's never shown any sign of wanting to mouth them or anything, I think she understands they are not game birds and that mommy would skin her alive for hurting one... or at least wouldn't let her sleep on the bed, which is really just as bad, if not worse than being skinned alive.

That great....I was thinking the same thing when I saw this post. I won't have a tremendous amount either so the three of us should be fine. I have a small table and a couple of folding chairs.

I have a "field bred" Golden Retriever who is that way. She is the only one of my dogs that I can count on to help me round up chickens and check coops any time of the day or night, rain or shine.

Hmm.. Hailey is "field bred" too, so I wonder if that's just it. I'm sorry, but I think the showroom bred labs are just... hmm... not-so-pretty-or-smart, trying to put it kindly here. I love my labs with nice long strong legs, big noses and a head that doesn't remind you of a bull terrier
